Anything Goes by Emma Chamberlain
(Spotify Exclusive)

I honestly love everything about this podcast because it does not necessarily feel like a podcast. The best way I could describe it is almost if I am on a FaceTime call with a friend. Emma is a young girl in her twenties just trying to figure out her life as she goes on, which feels very relatable to me personally. Every week she gets behind the mic and just talks about whatever pops into her head, it is kind of a collection of all her thoughts that she chooses to share with us at the end of the week. That said, my favorite part is how the podcast still has structure while also simultaneously seeming like She’s rambling about her life.
Write Your Screenplay Podcast

Write Your Screenplay Podcast is an excellent resource on Apple Podcast that is dedicated to learning tips and tricks about script-to-screen examples from current popular movies and television shows. The host Jacob Krueger analyzes key elements from a movie to television series as suggested in the titles of each of his episodes and transfers that analysis to advise on screenwriting whether it’s about original storytelling or spectacle being integral in films from *Avatar: The Way of Water* to a tv show like *The Last of Us.* Jacob goes into depth on how original storytelling in *The Last of Us* is about zombies is not one hundred percent original being a story that includes zombies but is different because the story between the main characters like Joel (Pedro Pascal) who is relatable to real-world people when he fails to save people he loves. Then, there is *Avatar* with the blue aliens from Pandora which were directed by James Cameron, and in the second film *Avatar: The Way of Water*, Jacob compares both the recent film and the first film to demonstrate how similar the films are but with the second Avatar being focused underwater. Krueger’s main point of comparing both Avatar films is to tell the audience that spectacle is a quintessential element from screenwriting to screen because even the simplest images in a film can tell the most important points of what a film is about.
Broken Record

It’s pretty difficult to find someone who does not enjoy listening to music. Musical artists today are in their own league of celebrity status. Idolized by millions, I believe that learning more about your favorite music artists adds a deeper depth of appreciation for their work. The podcast Broken Record from Pushkin Industries focuses on different artists from all kinds of music genres, pop music, R&B, rock, and even classical. The host, Justin Richmond with interviews by producer Rick Rubin, writer Malcolm Gladwell, and former New York Times editor Bruce Headlam, provide listeners with a special conversation with these artists, allowing them to share their stories, inspirations, and much more about music lovers worldwide. I found this podcast because they had a two-episode segment where they spoke to singer/songwriter, Jacob Collier. Collier is given the unofficial title of musical genius, as he is known to constantly find intuitive ways to use music theory in his work. I was always interested in the way he saw music so it was great to learn that Broken Record had exactly what I was looking for. Other episodes featured artists like Usher, Cat Stevens, and even Jeff Goldblum, so if you want to learn more about your favorite musical artist, then this is the podcast for you.
